Tip . . .

The quickest way to dull a cutting edge is to let it sit in a drawer or on a bench. A quick and easy way to cover your scapels, x-acto or swivel knives is to use rubber tubing. You can get it at most hardware or auto stores. 2 to 4 inches will do. Clear tubing works best because you can see the blade without removing it.

For bench and round knives, add a snap button to the top of each sheath. Then mount the bases to a wall or bench. Whenever you need the knife just unsnap it and go to work. This way the knives can be hung up out of the way and you can always keep the blade covered.
